Your BMI suggests you are in the healthy weight range.

BMI is a screening tool that can indicate whether a person is underweight, healthy weight, overweight, or obese.

Understanding Your BMI Results

Body Mass Index (BMI) is a simple calculation using a person's height and weight. The formula is BMI = kg/m² where kg is a person's weight in kilograms and m² is their height in meters squared.

BMI Categories:

Underweight

BMI less than 18.5

Being underweight may indicate malnutrition, eating disorders, or other health problems.

Normal weight

BMI 18.5–24.9

This range is associated with the lowest risk of health problems. Maintain your healthy lifestyle!

Overweight

BMI 25–29.9

People in this range may be at increased risk for certain health conditions.

Obesity

BMI 30 or greater

Obesity increases the risk of many serious diseases and health conditions.

Limitations of BMI

While BMI is a useful screening tool, it has limitations. It doesn't directly measure body fat and doesn't account for factors like muscle mass, bone density, or overall body composition. Athletes with high muscle mass may have a high BMI but not have excess body fat. Older adults may have more body fat than younger adults with the same BMI.
